Baked Potato Tater Tots/Homemade Potato Tots

Tater tots are well known in United states, these dish are made from grated potatoes and usually deep-fried. These tater tots are extremely crispy with a cylindrical shape and this crispy tots are very much served in most of the school lunch counters and cafeterias. They are sold in most the frozen food section of many grocery stores. I came to know about this tater tots only after i start blogging, i have been looking for a chance to give a try to this dangerously addictive potato tots. When i picked 'Small Bites' i gathered all the ingredients to dish out these guilt free baked potato tots.

These tater tots are definitely a kid's friendly snacks or appetizer, if you are planning to give a try to different snack foods for kids. Usually tater tots calls for egg, but mine is completely egg free. If you looking for a simple and hassle free snacks, then you definitely give a try to this lipsmacking potato tots. I went for baked ones, though deep frying makes super crispy tater tots too. However this baked versions tastes extremely delicious served along with your favourite sauce.

Baked Potato Tots, Potato Tater Tots

2 Potatoes( large)
2tbsp Corn flour
Pepper powder
Salt
1cup Bread crumbs
Oil (for baking)

Preheat the oven to 375F, Line a baking tray with a baking paper.

Meanwhile cook the potatoes in water with enough salt, until they turns soft. Drain the water and let the cooked potatoes gets cool completely.

Grate the cooked potatoes in a bowl, add enough salt and pepper powder, mix well and keep aside.

Make a paste with corn flour and water, take it in a bowl. Take the breadcrumbs in an another bowl.

Take enough potato mixture and shape as a oval shaped tots.

Dip the tots into the flour mixture, roll it in bread crumbs.

Arrange the tots to the already prepared baking tray, brush tots with oil.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden.

Serve with your favourite sauce.

My kids don't care whether these are baked or fried. It goes in just because they are made with potatoes :)
